Task 2 Deliverable, Part 2

Part II.
Whenever we complete a main project or task we must share and reflect. The Debrief is an activity that you will complete following the completion of a task.  Recall that Principal Akano tasked all new teachers at Ala Ike school with being on a committee with other new hires and the second task was for each person to select and share a web 2.0 software tool?

In your Blog please reflect and respond to the following:
  • Having completed this review of a web 2.0 tool would you use this tool in your classroom?
  • Prior to this activity, how did you typically select website or tools to use?
  • Do you have any ideas, comments or feedback on improving the web 2.0 tool selection process?

For my classroom, I would use Twitter just so my students can keep updated with certain groups of people, community information, the news worldwide, and keeping their connection to the real world while learning in the classroom. Before this activity, I can honestly say i didn't know as much about web 2.0 tools. I work at a preschool, and we don't use online technology in our classrooms. But it was a great way to learn about the tools so i can further help my understanding of teaching with technology. I really enjoyed learning about the web tools, and how they work.

Week #7 Group #4 Current_Event

Group Buddha decided on Poll Everywhere.
Poll Everywhere is a great, fast, and creative way to include real experiences using your mobile devices. It replaces the old pen and paper way of getting feedback by creating a poll that allows your students to answer through text messaging. It can help to enhance student's interests by allowing you to write up lessons plans involvoing your students results. It will also help to create a democratic classroom for other dicussions or projects in their future learning.
Poll everywhere is used by k-12 teachers, presenters, ad agencies, colleges, and many more. It's been used for the classroom and even outside of the classroom, allowing real life input. You can also vote on the webpage for any students that may not have access to a cell phone. This allows for an interactive and unconventional way of participating with your class. Poll Everywhere will keep their attention by using something that they probably do all the time anyway, texting.

Self Introduction

Hey everyone! My name is Michelle Mukaida. Mieko is my middle name. :)

My favorite technology gadget would have to be my iPhone4. It would have to be my favorite device because of its convenience. It's small enough to fit in my back pocket or purse and it has unlimited EVERYTHING. It is my connection to the world through the Internet, Texting, Emailing, Telephone Calls, and everything else in between.

I'm a very conscientious worker, also a quick learner, and I'm patient. I love working in groups, because I enjoy getting the feedback of fellow classmates and it's always very insightful. Note taking is what i do best! :)
